About the song
On this particular tune I wanted it to sound like when rock and roll was young and you heard that garage band down the street fire up. It’s that loose feel like the Rolling Stones. It’s the kind of thing that gives rock and roll its name. It sounds fresh with lots of enthusiasm and excitement, and a little ruff around the edges., like it’s being played for the first time.
The Stones are the undisputed masters of making a song that’s been played a thousand times sound like the first time it’s been played. The yeah's, da's and na's were there in the beginning because I didn’t have any words to fit in, then it reminded me of Lucy in the Peanuts cartoons on the telly, when she gets mad at Charlie Brown you never hear what she says they just put up *@&% and you hear that horn and you let your imagination do the rest. So that’s what you’ll have to do in this tune.
When you’re listening to it, tell me, can’t you see Mick, strutting on stage, doing this one with Charlie Watts and the guys backing him up?
However, even though this is a Stones-esque song, there are a few McCartney-isms on the bass, and it was recorded to have a live performance feel to it. This is one that is really fun to play live.
Well, I’ve said enough, so I hope you have as much fun listening to it as I did recording it. Enjoy.

Lyrics

I got something to tell ya and it’s bad news
I found out you’re a liar, right down to your shoes. You told me that you loved me.
I clung to every word, but people like to whisper, And this is what I heard.
Yeah e yeah e yeah yeah, Yeah e yeah e yeah
Yeah e yeah e yeah yeah, Yeah e yeah e yeah
Yeah e yeah e yeah yeah, Yeah e yeah e yeah
Yeah e yeah e yeah yeah, Yeah e yeah e yeah
For pure cane sugar, You ain’t that sweet
Honey you should watch, the company that you keep. Your sisters done some talk’n. Yes, she filled my head. She took me out to dinner
And this is what she said.
Da da Da da Da da, Da da Da da Da..
Da da Da da Da da,Da da Da da Da.
Da da Da da Da da, Da da Da da Da.
Da da Da da Da da, Da da Da da da
Well enough is enough, And I’ve had enough
I’ve had enough of you. I cant understand it,
Why you don’t under stand it. When I tell you
That we’re through.
Na na Na na Na na, Na na Na na Na.
Na na Na na Na na, Na na Na na Na.
Na na Na na Na na, Na na Na na Na
Na na Na na Na na, Na na Na na Na
Yeah e yeah e yeah yeah, Yeah e yeah e yeah
