One day my wife asked me for a tune that would help her memorise this scripture (Phil 4:8) and this was the tune that I got. I then realised that verse 9 fitted the same tune with very little adjustment. That's the story.

Whatever is true, whatever is honourable,
whatever is just, whatever is pure,
whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious,
if there is then anything of excellence,
and if there is anything that's worthy of praise,
