About the song
For my daughter Katrina Alexandra Burns, The apple of her 'Proud Papa's eye..... my Princess, my love
Lyrics
Sleep Baby Sleep

1. Close your eyes, count to three.
Make a wish then come with me
We’ll take a ride beyond the moon
Go to sleep now we’re leaving soon
In your dreams so soft and deep
So sleep now my sweet baby sleep

2. Through the night you’ll sail so high
On a shooting star you’ll fly
If you wish I’ll come along
Sing for you your sleepy song
In your slumber we will meet
So sleep now my sweet baby sleep

CH 1: First we’ll float down to ‘Hush-a-bye’ mountain
And lie in a meadow so green
Rock on the waters of ‘Lullaby Ocean’
And sail on a boat made of dreams

CH 2: The stars in your eyes they mirror my smile
You take my breath away
This love that I feel you will never understand
You hold my heart in your hand

3. [Spoken] Close your eyes, count to three
Make a wish then come with me
[Sung] Hush now my darling you’ll never be alone
So catch a star and take it home
In your slumber we will meet
So sleep now my sweet baby, hush now my sweet baby
Sleep now my sweet baby……………… [Spoken ending]

Written for Katrina 6/18/2007. I was playing ‘House at Pooh Corner’ for her one night before bed, one of her favorite songs. Just before she drifted off to ‘Lullaby Land’, I started picking the basic chords for this song and humming her to sleep. This evolved the following morning into the basis of this tune. “Sleep Katrina, Sleep…. Sweet dreams my little love”
