About the song
I remember writing the lyrics in 1985 when I was feeling sorry for myself over something. Lyric for final verse added this year.
Lyrics
It was a cold, dark night, the wind was high
from a distance I heard a baby cry.
Felt like crying myslf, no what's the use.
Lord I'm so lonely, I got them Loneliness Blues.

I took a walk, the wind howled through my soul.
Dreamed I was a star of rock and roll.
Here I am drawing dole and hanging loose.
Lord I'm so lonely, I got them Loneliness Blues.

I drink at night to ease the pain,
It ain't no use, it just remains
there in my heart from the start
when I had it all to lose.
Lord I'm so lonely, I got them Loneliness Blues.

I'm all alone, nobody home,
live my life like a rolling stone.
Dinner for one, never two, nobody to accuse.
Lord I'm so lonely, I got them Loneliness Blues.
