The song started off as nothing more than a pun on a piece of paper. "Allison ponders a man named Mose." It refers to a very cool jazz singer named Mose Allison. Then the pun mutates into a bunch of Moses stuff, the burning bush up on a mountain (Mt. Sinai), "20 times two and no real lovin'" 20 times 2 is the number of years Moses led his crew wandering in the desert. He messes with someone named Yvonne (Yvonne DeCarlo played Moses' wife in 'The Ten Commandments'). An hour later this pile of wordplay and noodles turned into a serious song.
