About the song
I wrote this song for Buddy Irwin, who started a troop back in 1937 and grew it to over 100 boys. He stayed at it for 50 years, Turning Boys into Men, until he died in 1989.
Buddy has impacted the lives of thousands of men around this country, in all walks of life. He believed in the ideals of Scouting and believed in the boys.
...and he's not the only one. There are men and women all over this country investing their lives in growing kids to adulthood, trying to instill values and character into them. Quiet Heroes who are in it for the long haul.
