About the song
This song is a mix of two poems written by Chris Lindsay. For more of this great writer's work, please visit him at http://www.cryjustice.com/. These two poems are from his book "Mysterious Love Peoms and Love Letters". You can purchase this book, and many of his other works, at Amazon.com or in Kamloops at the local Chapters.

Anyway, here's how the poems became songs. In the first poem (Love letter accross the Pacific), a sailor writes a letter to his love, speaking of missing her and wanting her to be with him. However, the distance is making him "lonely" and so he finds himself sitting and "waiting patiently" for her to come back to him. Because of the distance and time apart, this sailor feels like he is falling out of love a bit, until something happens. Here, it musically morphs into the second poem (The Maiden in the Mist), where the sailor sees a lovely Native American girl through the mists in a forrest. This girl stirs the sailor's love even more, to the point where the sailor feels "deeply in love" again. Well, that's the story. Hope you like the tune.
Lyrics
Do you remember the day
We stood hand in hand
On the cold wet sands
Of the Oregon coast?
I watched invisible wind
Rushing through your tresses
Pacific ocean crashing
[C1]
White and wonderful
Like classical music
White and wonderful.
[V2]
My dear, if we both had wings
To fly beyond the horizon
Would your heart be open
To journey there with me?
How long must I be lonely?
Waiting patiently
For you to come back to me?
[C1]
White and wonderful
Like classical music
White and wonderful...

(The Maiden In The Mist)
In the fading light I followed her
For whenever she looked back
It seemed to be what she wanted
She ran across a field of tall grasses
Then dashed through a web of alder bushes.
I watched her leather-covered feet
Touch gracefully on water-soaked leaves.
She wore a blue night gown
And a white veil over her face;
Beautiful beyond description.
She awakened love inside of me
Then she disappeared like a dream.
She was the perfect image of you
And the dream seemed so real.

I'm beginning to feel
Deeply in love with you again.
