About the song
Both of my parents died, less than 2 weeks apart, in 1995. I wrote this after my MOther died, but finished it after my Father died, 2 weeks later. Conversations at the funeral home, with the crowds of old family friends that came to pay their respects, gave me the "this is what they say" idea.
