Self-loathing with synths and acoustic guitars

I am quite fond of the combination of sweeping synth sounds and chugging acoustic guitars on this track. Gary Numan’s excellent ‘Warriors’ might well have been an influence, while the keyboard vibes on the chorus sound like a nod to Radiohead’s ‘No Surprises’. The lyric has something of a self-pitying quality, but the lazy twin-vocal delivery on the verses is perversely seductive. The song could have done with being developed a little bit more, particularly on the choruses. Had I been a better bass player, there might have been more happening at the bottom end, as the actress probably didn’t say to the bishop
