About the song
it's a tribute to 2 teenagers who died a couple of years ago in a tragic school bus/car crash. Although I didn't know them personally it still struck me as a terrible experience for any parent to have to go through and so ray and i started writing this song and i finished it a couple of weeks ago and recorded it in my spare bedroom studio.
Lyrics
LOSING YOU
Ray Hensley/ Mike Lyzenga
Just when I thought I was over you
Your laughter and your tears came back to me
There you were in my mind again
Like it was just another memory
It brought me back down to reality… Losing you
I remember when I heard the news
It took my breath away
There was nothin’ I could do
It was my darkest day
It brought me back to reality… Losing You
I haven’t gone by where it happened in a while
The pain is just too much for me to bare
I still see your smilin’ face and dare to feel your warm embrace
But now it hurts so much cause you’re not there
I’m drawn back to the shrine
That we made for you
And I accept the fact that you are gone
What else can I do?
It brought me back to reality… losing you
