About the song
A beautiful young girl has been sent away to a convent in Spain by her evil stepmother in order to keep her from being with her lover. He knows nothing of this, other than the fact that he no longer hears from her. Fearing the worst, he begins his search. He travels far and wide, talking to anyone who may have known her, seeking her in the four corners of the earth.
Unknown to him, she has become a sister of the convent. She does miss him, but there is nothing she can do. In an act of desperation, she runs away in the night, only to fall off of a cliff, badly injuring herself on the rocks below. She is rescued the next day by a wealthy Spaniard who owns a villa near the convent. She is nursed back to health, and within days he asks her to marry him. She is tempted by the Spaniard's wealth and good looks, however she remains true to her lost lover.
Meanwhile, our hero, hearing stories of the convent in Spain, is closing in on her. One night, under the cover of darkness, he approaches the villa and spots her. He waits until morning, at which time he breaks in, and empowered by rage, kills the Spaniard and takes her away.
Convinced that she was seduced by him, he is overcome with rage and jealousy. He ties her to a tree, then tortures and rapes her brutally, although rape is perhaps not a technically correct term to use for she does not resist.
His journey now ended, he thinks about the end of the world, then turns the gun upon himself.
Quod Erat Demonstrandum.

Lyrics
I'm dreaming of you in the dark,
Life goes on, time's not with me.
We've been dancing in circles too long,
What went wrong? You're not with me.
I'm dancing with you in the dark,
Time goes on, life's not with me.
The fire in your eyes now seems gone,
What went wrong? Did you miss me?
Walking through the night,
I search by candle light, now I've found you.
Wait till morning comes,
The rising Spanish sun shows the way.
Tearing through the dawn,
I see you're not alone.
The rage inside me boils,
The passion takes it's toll.
Reaching for the gun,
There's nowhere left to run.
I'm taking what is mine,
Our souls now intertwined.
Life goes on, time's not with me.
We've been dancing in circles too long,
What went wrong? You're not with me.
I'm dancing with you in the dark,
Time goes on, life's not with me.
The fire in your eyes now seems gone,
What went wrong? Did you miss me?
Walking through the night,
I search by candle light, now I've found you.
Wait till morning comes,
The rising Spanish sun shows the way.
Tearing through the dawn,
I see you're not alone.
The rage inside me boils,
The passion takes it's toll.
Reaching for the gun,
There's nowhere left to run.
I'm taking what is mine,
Our souls now intertwined.
