About the song
The instrumental tracks to "Legend" and "Invasion" were both recorded during the same session, in 2002. Now, they are both to be a part of a new Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra concept album project.
CHAPTER ONE: "Legend"
officially opens up the 'story' as we are (re-)introduced to (the currently 'un-named') 'Mandeaux Rex', The Celestial Dragon, as he surveys a brand new pre-historic world, and decides to 'appoint' himself....'GOD'.
Jump forward many centuries later: Planet Gaea's people evolve and build a world of culture and technology, all under the watchful eye and word of "The ONE". Many centuries after that, this new Planet, named 'Gaea', has been selected to receive an 'invitation' to join the United Planetary Forum' (U. P. F.), the grand consortium of ALL the KNOWN WORLDS within the UNIVERSE----
Only that the people of Planet Gaea are ignorant to the existence of other worlds or peoples. Thanks to the 'teachings' of GOD (a.k.a. The ONE), Gaea believes that they are ALL there is in the Universe.
At the same time, The U.P.F. has NO IDEA that a certain 'Mad Renegade' they dispatched a few eons earlier has taken up residence on this 'young, naive, innocent, blue world'. Nonetheless, The U.P.F. proceeds with their invitation plans by dispatching a Diplomat to Planet Gaea.
And, The Story Begins.....
