About the song
I've had the paint a picture sequence for ages but finding the right bits to go with it proved very hard!, this 2008 version I recorded very chilled out and very different to how it was first recorded a la britpop!, This decision was influenced by working on it with the band i'm in and how much better i thought it sounded acoustically, especially with Aimie (who sings with me on it, thanks again Aimie!!) doing some terrific harmony vocals, which to me make the song that much better, i was also tempted to add lyrics in the middle but left it to just a little aco solo and the ahhhs which i think suit it well.

This song is also on my new cd "Touch the Sky" out soon on cdbaby.
Lyrics
PAINT A PICTURE
(Words and music by Warren Jenks)
(Straight in to verse)

1.
Outside do you see broken sunshine
but inside feels trapped in gloom
are you looking for any answer
to escape from this room (so).

chorus 1
Paint a picture where your goin
shine for all the world to see
it might mean nothin to you it means something
to realize your dreams.

2.
Inside my head breeds confusion
outside my calm is a trick of the eye
im looking for any reason
to break these clouds and touch the sky.

chorus 2
Paint a picture as you travel
the road to freedom from dark days
so lighten up now all your sorrows
to realize your dreams.

solo

To realize your dreams

Chorus 3
paint a picture of the journey
nothin left to stop you now
it might mean nothin to you it means something
to realize your dreams.

To realize your dreams
so realize your dreams (Now)
