About the song
Inspired by a visit to my hometown and the sunny shores of Grand Beach, Manitoba.

Thanks to Norm Strauss of Kelowna, B.C. for assisting in the arrangement and production of the song and to David Saylor for his addition of vocal and harmonies.
Lyrics
I met you at the beach today
We watched the sun rise on the bay
It made your eyes shine
like sparkling jewels

Held your hand down by the shore
Didn't know what was in store
Would I be by your side
when the day is through

How long must I keep waiting
Can't stand anticipating
Will I be by your side
when the day is through

We talked about the days ahead
Only wish you would have said
Tomorrow I'd still
be here with you

Lightning flashed across the sky
Will the thunder pass me by
Would there be fireworks
when the day is through

Can two worlds come together
Will this dream live forever
Will I be by your side
when the day is through

Love fades as the shadows grow
Night falls and I still don't know
Will I be by your side
when the day is through

As the sun sets on the bay
Just the moon to light my way
I can still see your eyes
shine like jewels

How long must I keep waiting
Can't stand anticipating
Will I be by your side
when the day is through

Can two worlds come together
Will this dream live forever
Will I be by your side
when the day is through
