About the song
the song has a few different sides to the story. One side entails me as having inner problem with myself and the other side entails the troubles of hip hop as a culture. My problem is deciding how exactly do I wanna do music. Do I want to follow trends and commercialize me as a product to make a living or do i want to start a new trend towards the way I would like African Americans to be recognized and perceived as a people. All the images that our youth sees today are basically true to a point but put out in a fashion that it is appears to be cool to be a drug dealer or video hoe,or balling, or blinging. These images being pounded into our kids heads somewhat reinforces that that is the only way out the hood. Some of the choices made by our youth are ill informed and ill advised but what can you say when today , the kids teacher's are music videos.
