About the song
Richard:
When putting together this album the plan was always to throw in a few of our influences into the mix (as will always be the case with any of our projects any of us work on), I'd been listening to a bit of sleazy rock which I think rubbed off on this song a little (the other guys blame me anyway). Our buddy Chris Szkup very kindly played some neat as lead guitar on this track which really helped seal the deal for us as a definite for the album, we go into a kind of ZZ Top kinda mode here....Our ZZ WILD number I guess you would call it. I felt we needed some more injection of something a bit more light-hearted as we had some pretty intense subject matters happening, lyrically this track is based upon actualities. Above all this is a really fun song to listen to and it was a fun one for us all to record as well.
There was even while we were still piecing this song together the idea thrown around that this would be a great song to make a video for, I'm surprised I managed to add my vocal track because Rob had me laughing so much about this scene he had envisioned for the video! (although I suspect I will get blamed for that! haha) lots of really funny ideas have been thrown around...so keep an eye out for that in the future.
Rob:
Definately ZZ Topish, we had fun with this track too! plenty of chuckles going on. Chris Szkup plays some great ZZ style stuff on this track,
(Kudos Chris, great sounds man) This is one track that I wasn't completely sure of while working on it, but once Richard heard it, it was
all positive vibes. (We'll blame you for the sleaze idea too mate!) Quite a challenging track to mix, it sure wasn't a 5 min jobby, good fun!
Matt:
I like the way this one starts. Then the way it carries. It kinda does have that ZZ Top thang going on. I like shredders gat in there too. The shredder being Chris. Not one of the more challenging bass lines I’ve ever written but it wasn’t supposed to be. Groove is more like the order of the day here. And as for the video, Richard has had some “ideas” for it. We have discussed some of the scenes we’d like to see in there but I can’t ellaborate here. This is a family show. Oh and blame Richard.
