I think it was an old Warner Bros cartoon that had the tiny elephant wandering around the place, and everyone who saw it thought they were having hallucinations. Because I'm not restricted by the laws of the universe or the need to show things visually, I've chosen to make my elephant full sized and substitute it for the fly in all those "Waiter! There's a fly in my soup" jokes. It makes for a more incongruous image.

Excuse me Mr Waiter, can I please have some service
There's something in my soup, I'm sure I can see it
It's got a five foot long trunk, and big floppy ears
And if I'm not mistaken, a pair of tusks as long as my arms

Yes, an elephant in my soup
It was supposed to be split pea

I'm not the kind to complain, but I don't think I can eat it all
And watching it swim around is putting my off my food
And of all the things that could have fallen into my soup
Mr Waiter, I think a fly would have been sufficient
