About the song
I originaly wrote this for a contest, the song was to be about or inspired by the book, (or movie) "To Kill a Mocking bird) so this song is about that.
Lyrics
DOWN HERE (inspired by To kill a mocking bird)
He was a faceless man (V1)
in a faceless crowd
blind with hate
poor but proud
they had come for a man
guilty as can be
'Fore someone
could set'em free
Where's justice in Macon tonight
He sits alone, under the light
conscience for a town it seems
where the end justifys the means (chorus)
innocence is in the skin
Don't know what you hope to win
that's just the way it is..........
Down here.
Just part of a mob (V2)
all bent on murder
not a friend
not a neighbor
fueled by whiskey
chased by hate
The trial was set
just can' wait
Where's justice in Macon tonight
He sits alone, under the light
conscience for a town it seems (chorus)
where the end justifys the means
innocence is in the skin
Don't know what you hope to win
that's just the way it is..........
Down here.
She was just a lit'l girl (V3)
by her father's side
made him see
he couldn't hide
brought back his senses
this lit'l scout
sent them all home
without a shout
(repeat chorus)
