About the song
I am a huge fan of Swampman's guitar playing, so it was a real honor and pleasure to work on this collaboration with him. The song is about the crazy world we live in.
Lyrics
CONFUSION
Somewhere in the middle
Left here right besides what's wrong,
It's like some kinda riddle
Where the pieces don't belong,
Why don't you
Lead me through the flowers
Into someone else's dream,
A garden filled with hours
Knowing nothing's as it seems.
A bough has broken, a shiver through the trees,
Just takes one rumor to bring us to our knees
(Oh) Yeah the tide has turned and someone is to blame,
But I know there's one thing, there's one thing that remains...
Confusion.
Half way down the hillside
Running backwards through the days
Of rosy colored sunlight
Chasing shadows through the maze.
Why don't you
Trust my intuition when I fear what lies ahead,
I dance with opposition and I'm careful where I tread.
There's always someone who waits to make a move,
Too many cynics who've got something to prove,
(Oh) Yeah I've traveled far and nothing looks the same,
But I know there's one thing, there's one thing that remains... Confusion.
(Confusion, hey)
Politician, lawman, advocate and teacher,
Judge and jury, spaceman, entertainer, preacher,
Fighters, pacifiers, givers and the takers,
Those in search of love and cold heart breakers,
Don't have the answers for no one can explain,
Just learn to hold on 'cause here it comes again...
Confusion.
Somewhere near the ending
At the start of where I've been,
I spend my time just mending
All the things I didn't mean.
Why don't you
Take a walk and follow
If you'd like to wear my shoes,
My friends are always borrowed,
More I win the more I lose.
A thousand faces all painted with a smile,
Another stranger is famous for a while
(Oh) Yeah the picture changes just to fit the frame,
But I know there's one thing, there's one thing that remains...
Confusion.
