About the song
I've always liked the 'elegant' sound of Roxy Music, only accented by the usually 'suave' presence of Brian Ferry and the bandmates - line up at this album: Andy Mackay - saxophone, Phil Manzanera - guitar, Neil Hubbard - guitar, Alan Spenner - bass, Andy Newmark - drums and Jimmy Maelen - percussion. Back in my days as a 'board operator' in an FM station in northern Mexico, I always liked to play this song every once in a while if I got to cover the late nights/early mornings...
Lyrics
Now the party's over
I'm so tired
Then I see you coming
Out of nowhere
Much communication in a motion
Without conversation or a notion
Avalon
When the samba takes you
Out of nowhere
And the backgrounds fading
Out of focus
Yes the picture changing
Every moment
And your destination
You don't know it
Avalon
When you bossa nova
There's no holding
Would you have me dancing
Out of nowhere
Avalon
I'm so tired
Then I see you coming
Out of nowhere
Much communication in a motion
Without conversation or a notion
Avalon
When the samba takes you
Out of nowhere
And the backgrounds fading
Out of focus
Yes the picture changing
Every moment
And your destination
You don't know it
Avalon
When you bossa nova
There's no holding
Would you have me dancing
Out of nowhere
Avalon
