Just me....
** unless I forget my medicine. Then the other me helps.
Born with a silver pick in my mouth. Dropped out of grade school to go to the "Buck Owens School of Nasal Twang". I was kicked out for playing Jimi Hendrix on pedal steel.
yep... it's better then playing dead. Yes, I play pedal steel professionally and gig primarily in Texas. Venues have included Houston Rodeo, American Airlines Arena, Nashville CMA Fest, Zeigfest Houston, Gruene Hall, Blakes Pub, Stage on 6th Street, The Firehouse, Cypress Saloon, Brewster Street, Silver Wings Ballroom, Shadow Canyon, Mud Nationals Lake Jackson, Coshatte Hall, Midnight Rodeo Austin,Midnite Rodeo Waco, Midnight Rodeo Lubbock, Texas Hall of Fame, Killeen Civic Center, Bo's Barn, Franks on Lake Belton, Hempstead Watermelon Fest, Somerville Stampede, Chilifest, Burton Cotton Gin Festival, Fort Bend County Fair, Waller County Fair, Kosse Rodeo, Seeley Celebration,
Bremond Polish Days, Austin County Fair, Salt Grass Trail Ride, so many Go-Texan events I've lost count, and many many other venues....
Special moments?.. Probably getting to open with or work for my hero's.... Ray Price, Tracy Byrd, Radney Foster, Cory Morrow, Ely Young Band, Dierks Bentley, Bob Schnieder, Kevin Fowler, Cody Canada and the Departed, Bleu Edmundson, Bryan Burke, Max Stalling, Phil Pritcher, Drew Kennedy, Willie Nelson, Steve Wariner, Tracy Lawrence, David Kersh, Jack Ingram, Jeff Chance, Jerry Jeff Walker, Aaron Watson, Granger Smith, Little Texas, Charlie Pride, Johnny Lee, Doug Supernaw..... and more that I just can't remember.
Of course I had a great time playing for Jeff Coffell and the Plumb Country Band (out of Killeen, Tx) back in the 90's. Following that traditional country/western swing gig, I worked for a truly great cover band, "Night Shift" for many years and hundreds of gigs.
In October of 2010 I became a member/steel guitarist of a Texas Music group named "Rosehill". I have been really busy on the road with them and have covered many thousands of miles from Texas to Nashville, from Gruene Hall to Broadway.... what a trip! The band had three top 20 hits on radio during that time and one top ten CMT video. Even cooler was the that the bands producer was, and remains.. Radney Foster.. one of my long time musical heros!
In February of 2012 I retired from playing on the road with Rosehill and have been just hangin in my home studio, writing and recording.
Buck Owens, Jackson Browne, Robert Earl Keene, Vern Gosdin, Garth Brooks, Poco, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Byrds... Sweetheart of the Rodeo,
Buddy Emmons, Paul Franklin, Jimi Hendrix, Mountain, 38 Special, Allman Brothers, Moody Blues, Ray Price, Skip Ewing, Rodney Crowell, Radney Foster, and many others.
