About the song
This is from an album that we put together in 2000 where we all played on each others' material.
A lot of good tunes, coupled with some fine talent.
Personnel:
Algie Powers: Lead and backing vocal; 1st guitar
Ozone Pete: 2nd guitar
Bill Morse: Keys
Jim Walsh: Congas and shaker
Gene LaVoie: Bass
To me, Algie's voice strikes an emotional chord that is quite simply, very rare. Unique and emotive; from a place of beauty and pain.

Lyrics
Footprints
I led you by the hand;
Followed my footprints in the sand;
You always did what I asked you to do,
You were my perfect little man.
But now your world has grown so,
It’s almost more than you can bear;
You left my footprints behind you…
…Somewhere
I watched you start to care,
I watched you as you combed your hair;
I can’t believe all that happens to you;
You say, “It’s just not fair”.
Was it something I did…
To make you think I didn’t care?
You left my footprints behind you…
…Somewhere
Where are you going?
When will you know?
Cold winds are blowing,
And I can’t keep you warm…anymore…
I’ll have to let you go;
You’ll have to do this on your own;
I wish I was sure that’s the way it should be;
Can’t save you any more…
You know I’ll always be here,
I’ll try to understand;
I’ll follow your footprints to find you…
…Somewhere…
I led you by the hand;
Followed my footprints in the sand;
You always did what I asked you to do,
You were my perfect little man.
But now your world has grown so,
It’s almost more than you can bear;
