About the song
I belong to a site called Kompoz.com where people collaborate on music/lyrics/ideas. Barry had a great train tune up and all it needed was some words. After writing the lyrics, my wife and I submitted this attempt at vocals for the idea of the song.
Lyrics
Last Train Home
No one said living a lie would be so true.
Fall to pieces, rearrange, you got a brand new you.
Falling in love just don't cut it anymore.
You give it your all, like a thousand times before.
Chorus:
Raise your hands if you know what I'm feeling,
Tell me down the track it gets better than this.
And God only knows if I'm healing,
Cause this Last Train Home is a familiar kiss.
Pulling in I feel my fingers swell,
The last few trips have been a living hell.
And I don't know if I can take it again,
I'm at the end of my prayer begging...AMEN!
Chorus: (* No looking back, train is gonna take me home)
Raise your hands if ya know how I'm feeling, *
Is there a map that shows right or wrong. *
Open up with the answers you've been concealing, *
Cause this Last Train Home is almost gone. *
Ad lib:
Been a while but I'm working my way back home... *
I'm so tired, but I'm working my way back home... *
No one said living a lie would be so true.
Fall to pieces, rearrange, you got a brand new you.
Falling in love just don't cut it anymore.
