About the song
"This was a project for a class at Berklee (College of Music). Brian had a verse that he had written beforehand, and I had a chorus that I had been dying to use for the last year. And surprisingly, they worked out extremely well." - J.G.H.
Why Skee-ball? "It was a mutual memory of ours. Brian, like myself, is an avid fan of playing Skee-ball at any fair, amusement park, or arcade where it can be found."
Lyrics
Remember what you wrote in my yearbook
Summer before ninth grade
Said, "you always made me laugh
And you're not like the rest
P.S. stay sweet, don't change"

Leafing through the pages
Matched the picture to your words
Before we could look back
Four years came and went
And I'm left with just a ghost of what we were

And I wish I could write something
To the girl looking up at me

Chorus:
To Jessie, care of 1999
I'm just dropping you a line
So you'll remember
All the times we'll have together
To Jessie at a time when she was mine
To Jessie, care of 1999

We're gonna have a good time
Skipping classes every spring
Skee-ball at the fair
And walking hand in hand
Proud to be a king beside his queen

I wish we'd have known this castle wouldn't stand
But let's not forget it

(Chorus)

P.S. stay sweet, don't change
