About the song
This song was written by "praying on paper", as one of my mentors put it. It was intended to be a worship song at Muldoon Community Assembly's "Edge" service, which is where this version was recorded.
Musicians:
Jonathan Krukoff--Bass
Mike Greenland--Drums
April...ummm...I don't know April's last name (!)--backing vocals
Rachel Greenland--backing vocals
Jimmie Bowling--guitar leads
Mike Wallette--vocals and wah guitar
and, of course, God--making it all work :)
12/18/2005 was an intense set. The out-of-control sounds at the end were Jimmie trying his best to play with a broken string (not easy to do with a floating trem, lol!), so you know we were having fun!

Lyrics
Balm...to a troubled conscience
Peace...for a shattered heart
Love...for a child forgiven
Rest...for a weary soul
Pride...has now been humbled
Fear...replaced by joy
Hope...for life eternal
Faith...in things unseen
Take me, break me, shape me, make me
In Your image, God, I pray
I just want to be more like You
With all I do, every day
(I) Give my heart, my life, my soul
To you, my God, with all I do
All I want and all I ask
Is just to be more like You
Numb...to what I was before
Cleansed...from all my sin
Healed...by undying love
Grace...has set me free
Called...to sing His praises
Rich...in your blessings
Trust...I've found in You
Bold...nothing left to fear
Take me, break me, shape me, make me
In Your image, God, I pray
I just want to be more like You
With all I do, every day
(I) Give my heart, my life, my soul
To you, my God, with all I do
All I want and all I ask
Is just to be more like You
Take me, break me, shape me, make me
In Your image, God, I pray
I just want to be more like You
With all I do, every day
(I) Give my heart, my life, my soul
To you, my God, with all I do
All I want and all I ask
Is just to be more like You
