About the song
This is my late entry for the Nu Mu [Sic!] Festival 2008 which is music written to describe a black and white photo. My original photo is in color in which form I've left it for this page.
The Great Egret is a heron which is native to Florida and South America but it migrates to Central Park and stays during the summer months.
My music, which has now become the fourth section of my older Central Park Suite, is meant to describe the bird spiraling upwards as well as its odd feeding posture in which it slowly stalks its prey. When successful, one can see the fish going down its long throat.
