About the song
This is the first song I ever wrote way back in 1976 while learning to play guitar. It does not have the traditional verse/chorus/bridge arrangement since at the time it was written I didn't know these things were important or necessary. It follows more the lines of the old folk story telling style where each verse tells another part of the story. It is very simple and basic because the more I tried to add the less it sounded like I wanted. The theme for this song was inspired by the struggles and history of the Native Americans and their voice of the 70's Russell Means and Dennis Banks of AIM (American Indian Movement)
