It snuck in through the back door,
I guess it's my fault, i didn't even notice,
Then it struck me with the notion,
Maybe i've done it all wrong,

So i said 'If you've got all the answers, Why cant you look me in the eye?"
It spoke with a hollow tone of voice, as it proceeded to lie;

I could see in it's wake, It left the shadow of forever,
And in the palm of it's hands it held the illusion of the present,

So i said 'If you think you can help me, why don't you loosen your grip?'
And it cowered as i drew myself above it,
And it's hollow voice it hissed...

You've been standing in here in my hallway,
Second guessing every move i make,
And you say that you're to help me,
But i dont think i need you,
I never will believe you,
And i dont want to feed you,
