About the song
This is a lyric I wrote at the very beginning of my career as a lyricist and I felt it was time for a complete overhaul so this version bears little similarity to the original. Amy's music and fabulous vocal took my breath away...but Juri's arrangement and additional music takes it to a realm I just never could have imagined. Has to be one of my all time favourite collaborations.
Lyrics
1
I used to be so happy,
so proud of my man
Walking beside you,
my hand in your hand
But now pain's what I'm feeling,
though I'm wearing a smile
The winds of misfortune
are invisible sighs
Chorus
They call me Miss Sunshine
Cuz they don't see inside
I'm more like a rainbow
From the tears I have cried
The colours of the future
Are dismally blue
Because all of my sunshine
Lives inside of you
V3
My face tells no secrets
because hurt’s locked away
And you wouldn’t suspect that
I don’t feel ok
A smile hides emotions
Don’t want people to see
A cry baby woman’s
Not who I will be
