Last Crewsaders have built up a good reputation over the years for their 'All Elements' hip hop show which combines elements of rap, beatbox and break dance. The crew has also enjoyed critical acclaim outside of the club circuit.
Their debut album Never Dated' (CD/DVD, 4XM/Walboomers) was released in 2006 and was supported by the video clip 'Don't Care' which was broadcast on (TV) channels including The Box, 3voor12 TV and Statemagazine. The release resulted in a number of radio performances including: 3FM (Giel Beelen), Kink FM, Juice FM and Lijn 5. Last Crewsaders were also invited to perform live on the TMF show 'Re-Action' to promote their album.
At the end of 2006 the DIY mentality and diligence of one of Holland's most hardworking crews paid off with a feature on the prestigious Top-Notch compilation CD 'Homegrown 2006'. The readers of Statemagazine.nl voted en masse for the track 'Simply The Best' that LC recorded with the American underground rap crew 'Cunninlynguists'.
As well as doing many live shows (The LC have performed live more than 150 times in Holland and abroad since 2001 in countries like England, Belgium and Austria.) Last Crewsaders found time to do three new releases in 2007. The first release was the Mixtape '2nd Invasion Of The Micsnatchers' presented by Lowereast.nl. This was followed by 'Ctrl V.2 EP' on Statemagazine.nl, a remix project including remixes by Seda (Osdorp Posse), Spinvis (winner Popprijs 2007) and Skiggy Rapz (winner Grote Prijs 2003). The third release was released on the 14th of December 2007; a brand new album called 'The Prestige' (released on 4XM Records and distributed by Walboomers).
The crew is convinced of their own quality, that's why guest performances have been kept to a minimum on 'The Prestige'. The contributions are restricted to productions by US producer Rockwilder and Dr. Moon (Cilvaringz, Extince, Wu-Tang Elements). 'Partner in rhyme' Ace also spits 24 bars on The Prestige.
The release of The Prestige heralds a new sound for the Last Crewsaders. The tracks all compliment each other, the rhyme schemes have been improved, the beats more thought-out, the lyrics are more meaningful and the production smoother. In a nutshell, a milestone in Last Crewsaders career.
As the icing on the cake the Last Crewsaders have been included on the Top-Notch compilation CD 'Homegrown 2007' for the second year in a row.
