About the song
It was on the news 24 houres a day. Suicide bombers were killing innocent Israeles on a daily basis. Tourisim in Israel came to a standstill. But worst of all the news media seemed to be condemming Israel for defending herself rather than the terrorists.
Never one to shy away from taking a stand Tom Arico pulled his band together and prepared for a tour of Israel
"I refuse to sit in the comfort of My home while free people are being attacked by a bunch of hooligans, my fellow rock stars may be afraid or mabey their just jerks, Not me however I will show my support with a tour of Israel".
Tom got some friends together, organized a tour and played Tel-Aviv, Eilat, Haifa, Nazareth and Jerusalem.
A total of 75 shows. The jerusalem shows were the most spectacular with special guests Clint Arnau, Alan Strifleson, some rebels from Guatemala and The Spanish Princess

Lyrics
Driving down the river in an old horizon
i was talking to the preacher as my soul was rising
i was crying about losing my wife and kids that day
the preacher looked at me and said you got to realize
the things you do today decide who lives and who dies
you got to think about the future and the price your gonna pay
I never really bargained for this all I wanted was just another kiss
from a woman named laurie who I havent seen in seventeen years
laurie was a killer at heart she took our love and ripped it apart
and left me here standing in a pool of my own tears
laurie left the ring upon her finger that day
she said it diden't matter I had nothing to say
she left her man alone like a cheap date in a saloon
I drove untill the sun was sinking low in the west
of those who play the cards i know I do it the best
but the odds were catching up to me
I'm gonna draw a losing hand soon
upon the stone my life was engraved
I was riding on the crest of a wave
till it all fell apart you know things never go as planned
and lauries inmy arms tonight
shes warm but she's looking for a fight
with a pocket full of broken vows saying
faithfulness forever be dammed
the preacher lit a ciggarette and opened the wine
he said you hold her any tighter youll go over the line
you know your daughters gonna see you
and she dont want to see you like this
the preachers words were cold and sent a chill up my spine
it was'nt my desire and it was'nt the wine
I let the woman go but not before I stole one last kiss
My daughter meant the world to me but
there were things I just could not see
when the preacher raised his glass to toast the angel of desire
the preacher took my daughter for a walk down the I'sle
he said I'd make her happy with a wink and a smile
he walked into the room turned around and locked the door
the preacher left me standing on the side of the road
his final words to me were boy you gotta unload
I got into the car and put the pedal to the floor
I drove the car deep into space among the stars I found a place
between the rings of saturn where i'll never see the preacher again
I drove the car away from that place passed the moon deep into space
where I found a place out there where I'll never see the preacher again
i was talking to the preacher as my soul was rising
i was crying about losing my wife and kids that day
