I found inspiration for this song from a friend of mine who is a fabulous musician and songwriter. She was in a very successful band for several years. After the band split up, she didn't think she could continue as a solo artist or with finding a new band. She had lost her drive to follow her dream of being an artist.

I knew she had it in her blood and hoped that she would find a way to pick up the pieces. It would have been a shame to waste so much talent.

I wrote this song from the perspective of a person in this situation, adding the twist of this artist rising above and continuing on with the musical dream.
