I've been performing on stage since I was 5 yrs. old. I've been writing song lyrics since I was a teenager and just recently began writing my own music. Now that computers and the wonderful programs and digital recording eqpt. are here, along with the internet access, the sky is the limit. I performed in the SF Bay Area for many years with the Rama Music Co., the American Musical Theater Academy and in Sonora, CA with the Sierra Repertory Co. With my BA degree in Music/Voice from SF State and my minor in Drama, I have been part of many Broadway-type shows. Am currently participating in a CD for a new musical called "The Little Italian Girl." It will be opening in Australia in a few months. I collaborate with other musicians and songwriters on Tonos.com and one of my songs has been chosen for a PBS documentary that will be coming out soon.
I have one completed CD available on my website at MP3.com/Judy_Miller. I hope to get many opportunities to perform voice-overs for TV and/or movies. I'd like to write and sing TV commercials.
I can sing in many dialects and different voices. I also sing harmony with ease. I have sung several parts to create a chorus in some of my recordings. I play piano and guitar but am still working on those skills.
I love performing before a live audience. I like to play directly to the audience. With Rama Music Co., I appeared in many local SF night clubs and once in a benefit which starred Pat Boone and Caesar Romero.
I was influenced in my early years by Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn. Barbra Streisand has a beautiful voice and does the kind of songs I like to sing.
I have my own digital studio setup with my computer. I use expensive recording eqpt. with a preamp built in with my Omni I/O device and Delta 66 sound card. My Audio-Technica AT4040 mic was recommmended for the digital recording I'm doing.
