About the song
Doug Lewis sang this song as he heard it in his head. I changed the lyrics to fit a more steady rhythm and rewrote the music to a set pattern. Originally he was going to sing it, but he decided he liked my version better.
Lyrics
Once thought I saw a moment in your eyes
when you said, ?yes,?
The moment passed and, from your sigh, I felt
You longed for her caress.

Echoed laughter, the warm glow
The morning after was your life.
She?s here no more. And you are all alone
Even though she was your wife.

Half of something lost forever.
With no ?happy ever after.?
Forget that, Darling, now and look at me.
I love you and you know
you are my li---ife.

Each day that passes by I?m not with you,
I?m alone and lost inside.
You have to know I long to live with you
That I want to be your bride.

Storm clouds everywhere
I Can't seem to find you there.
and every time I see your face
I see you there with her.

I cry inside and only know I wish
That we could start again.
I?d ask you dear to come inside my heart.
I?d shield you from the one who broke your heart.

The one who broke your Hea?rt.
