About the song
The word religion has certain connotations for me that I'm not entirely comfortable with but I am a Christian and as such, a member of the body of Christ.
So, this person asked me why I was promoting gambling with my software. I told them I don't condone gambling and in fact, if anything, my gambling simulators were written to show people what I have learned: If used properly, these mathematically realistic simulators should convince almost anyone that there will always be more losers than winners and that gambling is not a long-term solution.
Lyrics
There was a time when I gambled but I was never addicted to it. However, I did meet people who were addicted and some of them were in pretty deep. A lot of people in this world don't like being told what to do by anyone but themselves. So I wrote software that would allow them to find out for themselves that gambling doesn't pay.
The simulators are not rigged. They're based on sound mathematics and real-life situations. Four months of research went into the horse racing simulator before the program was even begun and several years of experience were already behind me when I decide to write the BlackJack software.
If long-term losses of simulated money stops even one person from becoming addicted to the real thing, then I've done my job correctly.
