About the song
Michael Jackson's passing got me thinking about the last journey... so I wrote a song about the very last trip we all take, imagining that in it, in that dark night of the soul, I will be able to place my trust in the One who is still there.
Lyrics
When the night has closed in dark
And all I hear is my heart beat
You reach out and take my hand
Lifting me up to my feet
Oh I don't know where to go
Where do you flee, O my soul?
Lead me on where I must travel
Lead me on where I must go
Lead me on this star-lit gravel
Lead me where my feet won't go
Where have you gone my love?
Fled like the deer, my heart
But in my soul's darkest night
You lift me up, you take my part.
Oh I don't know where to go
Where do you flee, O my soul?
Lead me on where I must travel
Lead me on where I must go
Lead me on this star-lit gravel
Lead me where my feet won't go
And all I hear is my heart beat
You reach out and take my hand
Lifting me up to my feet
Oh I don't know where to go
Where do you flee, O my soul?
Lead me on where I must travel
Lead me on where I must go
Lead me on this star-lit gravel
Lead me where my feet won't go
Where have you gone my love?
Fled like the deer, my heart
But in my soul's darkest night
You lift me up, you take my part.
Oh I don't know where to go
Where do you flee, O my soul?
Lead me on where I must travel
Lead me on where I must go
Lead me on this star-lit gravel
Lead me where my feet won't go
