About the song
I was deeply touched by the horror stories of 2004.Now as tears fall, I see MAJOR destruction of Katrina. Already planned to help Red Cross, Salvation Army, Veteran Homes with CD release "Surviving The Storms".Not cut here, but wanted you to hear my song, anyhow.
Lyrics
Hurricane (for victims) Copyright Iris Harden 2004

Hurricane, Hurricane
So much heartache, so much pain now
From the fury in your eye, people perish, people die
Hurricane, Hurricane
Why the heartache, why the pain now?

How we love a gentle breeze
Flowing freely through the trees
On a warm a humid summer day
Yet deadly forces of the wind
Make you our foe and not our friend
For you came along and blew our world away

You've got the power, people don't
Lights aren't burning and they won't
Only God in heaven knows how long
Saw castles crumble to the ground
Now but a mem'ry to be found
Shattered pieces of our lives forever gone

Tropical depression, destruction on our land
Rains of oppression, took hope right from our hands
Lord, shower us with blessings, Oh, help us to understand

We're caught up in a whirlwind, don't know just what to do
Precious little children, Men and women too
Hungry, homeless, needy, "We're Crying Out To You"

Spoken:
The human eye can't see the wind
Eye of the storm could come again
So praying now, in God we trust
To always keep our eye on us

Hurricane, Hurricane
So much heartache, so much pain now
From the fury in your eye, people perish, people die
Hurricane, Hurricane
So much heartache, so much pain now
From the fury in your eye, people perish, people die

God bless you all. By: iris
