About the song
"Saturn's Moons" is a fun song to play with other people and, fortunately, I've got some good friends who make it even more fun. This is from the April 27, 2007 show that we did at the Monterey General Store in Monterey, Massachusetts. Thanks to Fred Schane, who recorded the show and also to Nick Torres and Jim Martin, who didn't play on this song but played on the rest of the songs that evening.
Lyrics
Saturn's Moons
- D. Hodge

She says theree must be someone living there
Up on one of Saturn's moons
Why else would God go through all the trouble
Of creating such a view
The people sleep all day
Bathed in the sun's cold feeble light
And wake up just in time
To watch the rings come out at night

She say the houses have no roofs
Each home is open to the sky
And every room illuminated
By candlelight and fireflies
Fruit and flowers grow everywhere
Violet gold and pink
No one thinks more than he feels
And no one feels more than he thinks

She says the people spend their whole lives
Writing songs about the stars
Of Jupiter and Mercury
Venus Earth and Mars
And I wish that I could live with her
Up on one of Saturn's moons
And wake up every night
To write another Saturn tune

Karen Berger - piano
Will Curtiss - bass
Greg Nease - electric guitar
Anne O'Neil - percussion
Joel Schick - harmonica
D. Hodge - 12 string guitar, vocals
