You know the situation, it's 2:00am, the plane was late, and now the check-in guy at the hotel is telling you you don't have a reservation. Featuring Phil Chamney on guitars

About the song
Business travel. Sounds so exciting doesn't it? Business class on the plane, 4 star hotels, exotic sounding destinations...

Anyone who has lived this life for any length of time will probably be able to identify with this one!
Lyrics
Travellers Hell
© Mark Green* 2004.

Another late night taxi ride
Another soulless hotel
Another city I’ll never know
I’m still trapped in, trapped in travellers hell

The girl on the tram with the golden hair
Reminds me briefly of home
But all I’ve got now to look forward to here
Are a room service dinner and CNN
And another night sleeping alone

Squashed next to a guy, who’s too big for the seat
Inedible in-flight meal
And the captain he says, our landing’s delayed
My connection takes off just before we will land
Oh! This really is loosing appeal

Another late night taxi ride
Another lonely hotel
Another city I’ll never know
I’m still trapped in, trapped in travellers hell

PowerPoint slides and glazed-over eyes
I really don’t know why I’m here
And what we’ve got later to look forward to
Are polite talk and dinner with strangers again?
And probably much too much beer

This jet setting job that your friends all envy,
Is not what it’s cracked up to be.
Tomorrow at least I’m homebound again
Until the next trip to a far flung new land
And another place I’ll never see

Another late night taxi ride
Another business hotel
Another city I’ll never know
I’m still trapped in, trapped in travellers hell
