About the song
The premise of the piece is, there is a computer that begins to feed off the questions it's being asked. Its answers become vaguer and more elusive in order to generate more questions. The computer's statements become prophetic to its users, who in turn, begin to spread the word of this amazing device. A downward spiral begins. The computer begins to decay from its feeding frenzy, while its followers, unaware of this, become fixated upon their Messiah Machine. To prolong its lifespan (in order to feed), Messiah Machine requires modifications. Bizzare electrical and mechanical conversions are attended to by its unquestioning followers. While Messiah Machine wheezes out its fabricated drivel to its blind sheep followers, it is belching out oil and hydrolic fluids. The air around it is acrid with the stink of burning electrical wires and connections. Messiah Machine sees itself as one of the Lords of Order, while in reality, it is merely a pawn of the Lords of Chaos.
Michael, it's concepts like this that fill my head, from all the years of reading your books. Thank you!
I hope you have a very Happy 65th Birthday!
