This song was written late one evening on the pow wow grounds at Charlemont. Sitting on the hill alone a vision came to me of a young native mother. She was sitting by the fire next to her new born child and just watching as the baby was peacefully sleeping. She became overwhelmed with the feeling of love and passion for her child. It’s as if it were the first time the realization set in; she was a new mother; and the baby was the most precious and beautiful gift granted to her by the Creator. She felt the sense of joy touch her heart and wished that she could stop all time from moving forward and live that moment forever.
