A Little More
My good friend and fellow songriter Steve Ford was recently diagnosed with liver failure and can't get a transplant. Docs give him 1 to 2 years. Sucks beyond words. He's only 53. I wrote and performed this one for a fundraiser held on his behalf.

Lyrics
A Little More
Timothy A. Perry © August 15, 2005
Verse 1:
It’s not so much what we have
But share with one another
Measuring our lives in terms
Of what we mean to others
Doesn’t matter who we are
Or how we earn a living
The quest in life is not for wealth
But rather in the giving.
Chorus 1:
The best of friends are made of
Something a little more
Making this a better place
Than it was before.
Sharing all the ups and downs
Ceiling to the floor
The best of friends are made of
A little more
Verse 2:
Shine the light you have inside
Illuminate the path
Cast your glow and clear the way
Letting others pass.
Cherish all the time you’ve got
Every day’s a gift
Love and laugh and worry not.
’Cause time will travel swift.
Chorus 2:
The best of friends are made of
Something a little more
Making this a better place
Than it was before.
Always there lift us up
Causing hearts to soar.
The best of friends are made of
A little more
Verse 3:
Bless you for the time you gave
And kindness spoken true
Bless you for your thoughtful way
Of seeing others through.
Thank you for your humor
And the music of your soul
How I wish we’d come to meet
Say, thirty years ago.
Chorus 3:
The best of friends are made of
Something a little more
Making this a better place
Than it was before.
A second set of footprints
Pressed into the shore
The best of friends are made of
A little more
