Lyrics
Well the rain was falling down
She said I've had enough
I mentioned it'd look pretty funny
If it was raining up
She tried to crack a smile
I noticed it was tough
And I could see she was clinging to
The other side of love
And then the sun it came out
Through a crack int he sky
It must have been a rainbow
That made her change her mind
Sometimes the hardest things to find in life
Are sitting right in front of you
Staring you in the eyes
So we went back inside
Through the curtains in her room
And forgot about the long list
Of things we had to do
I love it when them lazy days
Turn to a week or two
And I don't think I'll be looking to leave here
Too soon
Well my buddy from the city
Called me just the other night
I was on the back porch
Counting fireflies
He said, “Hey how's it going.
I hope that all is well”
I've been sitting here slapping bug bites in this Mosquito hell
But I fixed the fence
And the screen door, too
And I crossed them off the long list
Of things I had to do
And everything keeps changing
But that ain't nothing new
And I don't think I'll be looking to leave here
Too soon
Now the grass it grew tall,
Browned and turned to hay
With the gentle bows of goldenrod
That dance around in waves
And the rushing of the roaring water
Paused as if to say’
“Remember all them wild dreams that
That got away”
Now there's red lines on the envelopes
That got me all confused
Green mountains disappearing
Behind a yellow moon
And it must have been a rainbow
That took away my blues
I don't think I'll be looking to leave here
Too soon
She said I've had enough
I mentioned it'd look pretty funny
If it was raining up
She tried to crack a smile
I noticed it was tough
And I could see she was clinging to
