About the song
My love for my wife Anne Marie motivated me to write this song. I was also thinking that there hasn't been a good song that combines religious imagery with the intimacy of marriage since "With You I'm Born Again" back in the 70's.
Lyrics
1. When you touch me, I feel the hand of God
In the quiet of the night
Tender embraces, amazing graces
When two are gathered in His name, He is there
Loving you is a prayer.
2. When you kiss me, I feel the fire of God,
As our lips speak wordless truths.
Passion and pleasure, marriage’s treasure,
When two are gathered in His name, He is there
Loving you is a prayer.
Bridge: This blessed gift we share
Is a glimpse of what is waiting where
God wants us to spend eternity.
3. When you hold me, I know the love of God
In your gentle, open arms.
Life-giving union, loving communion
When two are gathered in His name, He is there
Loving you is a prayer.
In the quiet of the night
Tender embraces, amazing graces
When two are gathered in His name, He is there
Loving you is a prayer.
2. When you kiss me, I feel the fire of God,
As our lips speak wordless truths.
Passion and pleasure, marriage’s treasure,
When two are gathered in His name, He is there
Loving you is a prayer.
Bridge: This blessed gift we share
Is a glimpse of what is waiting where
God wants us to spend eternity.

Life-giving union, loving communion
When two are gathered in His name, He is there
