I wrote this track in Reason the next day after playing at a slammin house party in S.F. I was still a little fried from the E the night before and was really feeling the sound of the track right from the get-go.
I decided to call it Oddworld because there were a few sounds that reminded me of the Slig's from the video game Abe's Oddworld. The sounds were a result of running small vocal snippets of my own, through Some ocsillator effects on the rex player and then through the reason vocoder. The individual slices of the tweaked vocal sample were then mapped across my midi keyboard allowing me to tap out and trigger random words and vocal snippets .
