About the song
I think this song was about a girl. Though it could be about a friend. I don't remember. Nonetheless it is re-recorded for my new album. The lyrics are a bit primative. But I was young.
Lyrics
You gave me something in your smile.
I’ll keep that something with me for a while.
And I don’t have to feel so low.
I’ll take that something wherever I go.
I’ll take that something wherever I go.

And though you may forget me soon,
I’ll take your something over the mountains of the moon.
And I learned something by your eyes.
I’ll take that something with me when I die.
I’ll take that something with me when I die.

If you talk with me, we could soon get to know each other.
We could be oh so free and shine on with our brothers.
If you learn who I am, we could get so much higher.
We could be heat to them and set the world on fire.

I screwed up something. Then I died.
You helped me forget it and get on with my life.
And though it seems kind of sad,
You’re the only friend I’ve ever had.
Yes, you’re the best friend I’ve ever had.

If you talk with me, we could soon get to know each other.
We could be oh so free and shine on with our brothers.
If you learn who I am, we could get so much higher.
We could be heat to them and set the world on fire.

And though you may forget me soon,
I’ll take your something over the mountains of the moon.
And I learned something by your eyes.
I’ll take your something with me when I die.
I’ll take your something with me when I die.
