I'd been reading various histories dealing with the Scots in Ireland and the Western Isles and west of Scotland, in the first millennium. This is just something which expressed some images. It's played on my home-made Martin 0000 kit guitar, using Martin 80-20 bronze strings, tuned DADGAD. The recording uses five sources - an under-saddle Martin Thinline Gold, a Rare Earth magnetic pickup, two AKC C1000S mikes and a dynamic mike. A limiter filter was used on the audio track to make this very quiet piece a little easier to hear, and strengthen the dynamics.
