Much Love
Robert Anton is a proud native of Cleveland, Ohio. He began his music career singing in his grandmother's church; then moved on to choirs and ensembles in junior high school.
Bitten by the performance bug, he decided to study vocal music and musical theater in high school and college at the Cleveland School of the Arts and Baldwin-Wallace College, respectively.
After moving to New York City with a few hundred dollars and a dream, he quickly began performing in any venue available and landed his first big tour doing his favorite show, "Dreamgirls", with Miki Howard and other noted performers.
Robert's voice has been called a "velvety baritone" and "smooth as butter" by the Louisville Courier-Journal. He's also been tagged as Mr. Smooth by directors, colleagues, friends, and fans alike. "There is no sound more pleasant and no man more apt to put you in the mood."
He has performed and toured in over 10 countries and 150 cities around the world in such diverse productions as: Smokey Joe's Cafe, Annie Get Your Gun, Black Nativity, The Student Prince, Beauty and The Beast, Hair, Aretha: Queen of Soul, Dreamgirls, and more.
Robert has also portrayed Nat "King" Cole and Sam Cooke in several productions around the world and in New York City at the world-famous Cotton Club.
Currently Robert is promoting and celebrating his own original music and seeking representation.
He feels so blessed to be able to Follow His Dreams.
Currently, I sing with cover bands every week, so I do get to perform quite often. I'd like to be able to do my own material in more venues. I'm working on that now. I also sing at weddings and private functions with a band or just a piano. I absolutely love connecting with an audience; it's the most awesome part of my career.
Many singers and writers have influenced me over the years, but I suppose I would most like to emulate the careers of steady artists like James Ingram, Jeffrey Osbourne, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, and Nat King Cole. More current artists would be R.Kelly(without the sex tapes), Eric Benet, Jaheim, Luther, and Fantasia
Sony Vegas, Casio CTK-731, TASCAM 488 mkII

Thanks for stopping by. I'm also looking for collaborators, bookers, and representation in NYC and Asia (and around the world).
