A "lost puppy" someone that follows you, and can't get rid of them---and this is how the lyrics got started.

There was a time where I was getting out of a metal band, but really wanted to play surf. But, at that point, the only practical choices were to go disco---or a "mellow rock" thing such as a Fleetwood Mac or Eagles kind of thing.

I had opted to go with the "mellow rock" band, and that is how Airborne got started. That's where I started writing such as "Valerie" and "Lost Puppy".

This take of the song came with Ursa Minor(a later incarnation of Airborne).....This was a straight live take, with the 4-piece band with no overdubs.....note that the vocal is slurred and missing lyrics....but there is a really good feel with the track...
