Memorial Park
Soul searching turned inward, inspired by thoughts in a downtown Cleveland park that is actually called Memorial Plaza. I thought "Park" sounded better.

Lyrics
sit and stare at memorial park
and watch the people walk past
sense of smell is sharp in motion
i hope the weather will last
countless names of the dead i see
are recorded within
the civilizations breathe all around
the spraying fountain
looking for meaning thru the city haze
sitting in memorial park
buildings reflect all the bright sun rays
can the questions come out of the dark?
there's need to drift thru the days
and wonder what i see
vibrant senses like never before
call my mortality
in directions i've never looked down before
the sun will rise anew
if all of the doors are open
why didn't i see this view?
looking for spirit in the clover and rain
waiting in memorial park
water reflects all the bright sun rays
can the soul rise out of the dark?
gasping for air
thirsty for water
searching for soul
does it hurt too much to care?
i sit and i stare...
mourning over every part of me that's ever died
every path i could have taken
where the destiny was shaken
must face the confrontation
grow the soul and carry on
free the soul and carry on
and watch the people walk past
sense of smell is sharp in motion
i hope the weather will last
countless names of the dead i see
are recorded within
the civilizations breathe all around
the spraying fountain
looking for meaning thru the city haze
sitting in memorial park
buildings reflect all the bright sun rays
can the questions come out of the dark?
there's need to drift thru the days
and wonder what i see
vibrant senses like never before
call my mortality
in directions i've never looked down before
the sun will rise anew
if all of the doors are open
why didn't i see this view?
looking for spirit in the clover and rain
waiting in memorial park
water reflects all the bright sun rays
can the soul rise out of the dark?
gasping for air
thirsty for water
searching for soul
does it hurt too much to care?
i sit and i stare...

free the soul and carry on
